PocketTally is a local-first personal expense tracker. Core transactions, categories, budgets, preferences, and receipt file references are stored on your device. No PocketTally account or bank connection is required.
Receipt scanning
AI receipt scanning is optional. When you choose it, the selected receipt image, media type, current category names, limited merchant-category hints, and a random installation identifier used for abuse prevention are sent through a PocketTally Cloudflare Worker to OpenAI for extraction. PocketTally does not intentionally use the Worker as permanent receipt-image storage. Do not scan a receipt if you do not want this information processed by Cloudflare and OpenAI.
Issue reports
If you submit an issue report, its description, your contact email, a random installation identifier used for abuse prevention, and any local logs you explicitly include are sent through a PocketTally Cloudflare Worker and delivered by Resend. Logs remain on your device unless you enable Include local logs and submit the report.
Purchases
If PocketTally Pro becomes available and you purchase it, Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information needed to provide and restore access. PocketTally does not receive your full payment-card details.
Your choices
You can decline receipt scanning, omit logs from reports, export transactions as CSV, create and restore a records backup, and delete the app and its local data. Receipt image files are not embedded in backups. Exported files are shared only to a destination you select.
PocketTally does not sell personal data and does not use app data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
